Exploring Antarctica in the intimacy of a small group and a sailboat was a great way to observe the abundant wildlife, the stunning scenery and the Antarctic light. The absence of noise, hectic and overcrowded landings as well as the freedom to roam on the beaches at your own pace, made it a unique experience which can’t be had when travelling with a big cruise ship. Laurent always made sure we got the best out from the light on this beautiful continent, which turned the journey into a truly amazing photographic adventure sailing antarctica.”

“The Antarctic Expedition met all of our expectations! We were able to photograph, hike or snowshoe as long as we wanted. The itinerary was well thought-out and Laurent and Henk did everything possible so we could observe all the wildlife and have the best views and lighting conditions.”

“Antarctica, the most remote continent on the planet, a photographers dream and an experience that cannot be forgotten. The question is how to experience this incredible location? You can travel here in unabashed luxury, be marched around in groups of ten to fifteen following the flags placed for your convenience and returning to your cabin at night to listen to the generators that run your lifestyle or you can choose an experience that immerses you in the environment by sailing antarctica. There are rules and responsibility on this trip that are set up to ensure the safety of the crew and vessel, however in return for compliance with those the trip is tailored to allow you the freedom to sit in isolation and watch the penguins play in the water while others walk up to you as I did one afternoon. Henk is the most experienced small vessel skipper in the region combined with Laurent a guide with 30 years of experience of traveling on ice in Europe, Alaska and Antarctica, who also acts as a photographic guru to the experienced and unexperienced alike. This trip provides you with everything you need to fully experience the Antarctic, good food, warm shelter/transport and the time and locations to photograph or film the amazing ecosystem and wildlife. I cannot recommend this trip highly enough and sacrificing the spa bath was a minor loss compared to the rewards i reaped for being a participant in the adventure rather than a pampered guest.”

“Laurent, thanks for all the work you have done to prepare-to share – to cover and especially to survive 🙂 the antarctic expedition with all of us. It was one of my life’s most amazing journeys!”

“I left Ushuaia, Argentina on a sailboat with eight strangers and returned with friends bonded by a spectacular experience. Between Laurent’s excellent guiding and remarkable ability to keep the entire group laughing, Henk’s inimitable sailing acumen, and the natural wonder that is the White Continent, I could not have asked for a better experience. Having now traveled to Antarctica by ship and by sailboat, it is clear that only sailing antarctica provides the intimacy and freedom needed to truly take in what it means to be in Antarctica.”

“Every single day was overwhelming. The mindfulness I have experienced in Antarctica was nothing like any other trip in my life. I guess our mind is not prepared for what you see there. It has a way of changing you. It’s a place of incredible beauty and teeming wildlife.Every single day was overwhelming. “The whole trip sailing antarctica was amazing. The intimacy of the sailboat and being low on the water, as well as being able to land in so many places. Henk is a great captain. I totally trusted his sense of everything we did and had a blast. I would love to go again. ”

“Thank you Laurent for the amazing trip we made sailing Antarctica, and your very excellent teaching the joys of landscape and wildlife photography. I had such a great time! Thank you for your patience, and your insights into ‘feeling’, movement, light, getting up close to the subject, and the magic of Antarctica. I really learned a huge amount from you and am inspired to continue getting better.”
